Michelham Priory and Gardens
This is a beautiful Tudor mansion set amidst a traditional Medieval moat. There is plenty to do and see, with exhibitions and historical information. There are gift shops and restaurants and a watermill to visit. The inside of the Mansion has been preserved with furniture and other artefacts on display.  

Cuckoo Trail
This is a favoured cycling trail that follows the former ‘Cuckoo Line Railway Track’. It goes on for 11 miles passing through Horam, Hellingly, Hailsham and Polegate. It is especially good in summer, with wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife. There are various tea rooms and shops along the way which makes it quite suitable for a family outing.
